Our Halloween Puppy Party!

Well, I know it has been a long time(!) since I have posted an update, but I am determined to get caught up.  Much has happened since my last post!  Pictures here are courtesy of CD Lee.  Thank you, Curtis!

On Halloween afternoon, we had a puppy party.  In attendance was Bella (Beth came up with Blue Girl from Temecula!), Sasha (Danny brought Orange Girl!), Jade (Pinkie came with her owners, Cathy and Francisco), Lars (our Red Boy), and Gidget (Purple Girl wouldn't miss a party -- she is the party girl!).  Dexter (Green Boy) wasn't able to make it, because Andrew is in school in San Diego.  Kimber (Yellow Girl) was planning to come, but at the last minute Jamie and Jason couldn't make it.

Now, here is the cute part.  We tried to get all of the puppies lined up to take a picture in the living room.  Here is the sequence of shots that Curtis took, while we got everybody lined up:

I also had time to visit!!!  Here I am, with Beth and Bella.  It was so wonderful that they made this trip from Temecula.  What a sweetheart Bella is!  I am so happy that she has a good home with Beth and Mike.

We had food, and the puppies played.  In fact, they got worn out!  Here, Beth and Thomas watch Bella and Lars hang out in the doghouse for a rest.

Beth was enjoying being with the puppies.  She hadn't seen them since July (well, of course except for Bella).  Here, Bella snoozes while Lars hangs out with Harley, and Beth pets them all!

Then, Lucas decides he needs to snuggle with Gidget in the doghouse.  In the background, Lars is resting.

Now, since we had Harley neutered in September, his behavior has been wonderful.  He has turned into a social butterfly.  But we are still working on Holly... She stayed upstairs for the better part of the party, and then we brought her down to participate.  Here she is with Curtis:

That evening, the dogs helped me dispense Halloween treats at the door.  Here we are, dressed up for the trick-or-treaters:

I just couldn't get enough of looking at Bella.  She is so beautiful, and what a calm disposition!  Here she is hanging out in the family room:

Beth and Bella went home Monday morning, and things returned to normal.  Here is a picture Curtis took on his walk with Harley, Holly, and Lars:

Well, stay tuned.  I shall post again forthwith.  In early November (day after Halloween), Holly was spayed.  Boy, was that ever a fiasco.  Holly wouldn't let Dr. Scharg touch her, so I had to hang out while he sedated her, and sedated her, and sedated her, and sedated her ....  She seems to be doing better now that she is spayed.  A bit more social, a bit less aggressive.

The following weekend, I left for Chicago for a week for the American Physical Society meeting.  When I got back, I left on a road trip of California to visit my boys.  Stay tuned -- that will be my next post -- and then on to Thanksgiving!!!
